IN THIS TERM, LEARNERS SHOULD LOOK OUT FOR THE FOLLOWING IN DETAIL: 

Week 1.

  • Theme 1 - Reading to interpret diagrams accurately.
  • Theme 2 - Story or passage highlighting main and supporting ideas.
  • Theme 3 - The Future Tense
  • Theme 4 - Types of Drama: comedy, tragedy.

Week  2.

  • Theme 1 - Reading to interpret maps and sentences accurately.
  • Theme 2 - Write appropriate introduction and effective conclusion.
  • Theme 3 - Identify features of adverbial from passage on peace and dialogue
  • Theme 4 - Compound words e.g.: ice-cream, swimming pool, lifelong, etc.
  • Theme 5 - Class reading and analysis of Bena’s Dream Comes True

Week  3.

  • Theme 1 - Making meaning from spatial description/presentation.
  • Theme 2 - Writing formal letters on different topics e.g. letter to the Press, Principal.
  • Theme 3 - The Past Tense
  • Theme 4 - Phrases: a company of friends, a man of the people, a crop of ideas, etc.
  • Theme 5 -  Class reading and analysis of Bena’s Dream Comes True

Week 4.

  • Theme 1 - Informal letters: one address, opening salutation, body of the letter and closing.
  • Theme 2 - Identification of active and passive verbs from a passage.
  • Theme 3 - Questions and their tags.

Week  5.

  • Theme 1 - Reading to follow direction in written communication- The Health Practitioners.
  • Theme 2 - Expository Writing.
  • Theme 3 - Identification of active and passive verbs from a passage on War against Cultism.
  • Theme 4 - Listening for main ideas from a selected passage on cleanliness.
  • Theme 5 - Definition of Figures of Speech; Use of Comparisons- similes and metaphors.

Week 6.

  • Theme 1 - Identifying key words in the passage on signal direction.
  • Theme 2 - Guided Expository Writing: Arrangement of ideas in logical sequence.
  • Theme 3 - Making sentences using active and passive verbs.
  • Theme 4 - Making conversational sentences with question tags and responses to the questions. Different field of medical practice.
