THEME 1:  READING: Identifying topic sentences; identifying key ideas. 

THEME 2:  WRITING : Summary writing on selected passage/materials. 

THEME 3:  GRAMMATICAL ACCURACY :-Adverbial clauses.

THEME 4:  LISTENING/SPEAKING :-Vowel - /a/ and /a:/. 

THEME 5:  LITERATURE :- Types of poetry: Epic, lyric, ballads and dirge.

Week 2

THEME 1:  READING: Summary reading techniques: 

THEME 2:  WRITING: Summary writing on selected passages.

THEME 3:  GRAMMATICAL ACCURACY: Adverbial clause.

THEME 4:  LISTENING/SPEAKING: Intonation 

THEME 5:  LITERATURE: Language of poetry.

Week 3

THEME 1:  Reading to identify facts and opinions.              

THEME 2:  Tenses: present perfect and past perfect.

THEME 3:   Intonation: rising tone.

THEME 4:  Poetry:- i. Narrative ii. Ballads.              

Week 4

THEME 1:  Identify key points/ideas in different passages/paragraphs presented. Write summary of passage/paragraph given.

THEME 2:  Tenses:-Past Continuous Tenses.

THEME 3:  Drama: kinds and features of drama. 

Week 5

THEME 1:  Writing a composition               

THEME 2:  Reading to answer questions.

THEME 3:  Tenses:- Present continuous tense    

THEME 4:  Question Tags .

Week 6

THEME 1:  Reading for meanings of words in various context through clues provided by surrounding words.

THEME 2:  Written composition:- “My Future career”      

THEME 3:  GRAMMATICAL ACCURACY: Conditional statements  

THEME 4:  LISTENING/SPEAKING              Question tags    

Week 7

THEME 1:  Reading to acquire new words. 

THEME 2:  Qualifiers:- Adjectives .

THEME 3:  Vowel sounds (Diphthongs) /au/.

Week 8 

THEME 1:  Reading to identify facts and opinions

THEME 2:  Guided composition: ‘Why I chose to become a doctor.’

THEME 3:  Grammatical accuracy: Turning sentences into questions .

THEME 4:  Literature : Definition of irony
