WEEK 1
Speech Comprehension: Listening comprehension:-listen to speeches and other oral presentations for critical evaluation.
Structure: Introduction to clauses.
Vocabulary  Development: Words associated with Agriculture and Horticulture.
Reading  Comprehension: Reading to answer question on a given passage.
Vocabulary Development: Words associated with commerce.   
WEEK 2
Reading Comprehension: Reading to answer questions on a given passage.
Structure: Noun clause
Summary writing: Reading to summarize in a specific number of sentences.
Continuous Writing: Expository essay.
WEEK 3
Speech: Sentence stress:-Emphatic stress.
Structure: Adjectival clauses.
Reading Comprehension: Reading for implied meaning
Continuous Writing: Article writing (introduction, illustration and practice)
Speech Consonant sounds: plosives; /b/and/p/, /t/and /d/, /k/ and /g/
WEEK 4
Structure: Adverbial clauses: types and functions.
Reading Comprehension: Reading for meaning in context.
Continuous Writing: Informal letter: features and language.
Speech: Speaking to persuade, convince and sway opinion.
Structure: Auxiliary verbs.  
WEEK 5
Vocabulary  Development: Words associated with plumbing.
Continuous Writing: Semi-formal letter:-features, language.
Speech: Consonant sound; nasal: /n/, /m/ and /g/.
Structure: Concord (agreement between subject and verb).
Summary writing: Summarizing a given passage in a specific number of  sentences.    
WEEK 6
Continuous Writing: Formal letter.
Speech: Rhymes e.g. obtain – detain.
Structure: Adjuncts.
Continuous Writing: Exposition on scientific facts.
Reading Comprehension: Reading to answer questions on a given passage.  
WEEK 7
Speech: Consonants /s/and /z/, /ts/ and /dƷ/.
Structure: Tag questions.
Summary writing: Using simple sentences in summary writing.
Continuous Writing: Argumentative essay (debate).
Speech: Sibilants and the ‘s’ and ’es’ suffixes.
WEEK 8
Structure: Complex, and compound-complex sentences.
Reading Comprehension: Reading to answer questions on a given passage.
Speech: Revision of consonants.
Structure: Idiomatic expressions.
